Cube Areium Race vs. Felt IA 16?
Ok Im in the market for a new bike, currently riding an old Felt DA 4 which has served me well but I have the hankering for something new.
For the aero gurus out there, which do you think is a faster/better ride?
Cube Areium Race. https://www.cube.eu/...ce-carbonnblue-2019/
or
Felt IA 16. https://feltbicycles.com/...riathlon-bike-carbon

The cube has ultegra vs. the felt a mix of 105.

Cuss and discuss......

Cube makes some really interesting looking bikes, but obviously has made little effort in the US market. Would love to see them become more readily available and get some data.

I agree, they supposedly do aero testing with Swisside etc...
Im going to do the Euro duathlon championships in Germany April 19 and was just going to have it shipped to my Aunts house there and assemble it when I arrive.
They don't ship here to the US and I found a German dealer with a great price.

I love the look of the Cube Aerium c68, and supposedly it's very fast, but aside from the from the general shape of the frame, it looks like the Race didn't get a whole lot of trickle down. It loses the low seat-stay that makes the c68 look so fast, and that hornets nest of cables in the front is quite ungainly. I'd have to imagine with the cable management, the IA16 is going to be the faster bike between the two of those. And 105 vs Ultegra with the newest generation shouldn't be a selling point. Both are great.

The front end with that cable tangle does look quite ungainly.

Ive scoured the internet for Felts on sale and I found one IA16 58cm on ebay for a great price the only issue is the godawful light blue color.
If I go with it a new paint job is in order. :)

I found a shop in Germany and got mine in September. My friend just got his Aerium C68 last week from the same dealer. Used mine at IMFL.

My 02¢: Get the Felt

The Felt IA16 is essentially the same frame and performance as the IA FRD. The differences are integrated brakes, better grade of carbon, and a carbon cockpit. The Cube Areium Race is a 2nd tier frame relative to their top C68. At a glance, the Race is to the Felt DA as the C68 is to the IA.

It is way easier to upgrade components than it is to upgrade a frame.
