Was announced today at the Collegiate Women's Championship that 38th School has just signed a memorandum of agreement with USAT and NCAA to launch their women's triathlon program. USAT is currently is serious discussions with two more schools. With how much momentum the NCAA Triathlon initiative has it will likely reach 40 Schools committed before next year's Championships. First season of 40 Schools competing Women's Triathlon will be formally accepted as a full NCAA Championship Sport leaving the NCAA Emerging Sport category.

Washed up footy player turned Triathlete.

Once they hit 40 teams and earn full status and "real" NCAA titles are on the line, I would look for it to snowball and the number of teams being added will accelerate a bit. At least, I hope that's what happens!
