There have been attempts to do something similar with accelerometers mounted on the bike and on the rider. Better riders appear to be smoother.

It would be interesting to see it represented graphically. You could have a power meter on your disc brakes, a power meter on your crank spindle, a speed sensor, and an accelerometer. You could compare how riders ride a course of a fixed distance. IMO it would be an interesting coaching tool. You could have a course profile ridden by someone like Schurter or Courtney and compare how "you" the amateur rode the course vs them. If there was, say, a series of g-outs you could compare how they brake into turns vs how "you" brake into turns. My $0.02 it really wouldn't be too hard to actually make a disc brake power meter for mountain bikes. The example shown in the video would be damn-near universal. Just set it up to communicate over Ant+ and with a coin cell battery and you're good to go. Just need an analytics platform after that.
