I enjoyed a great couple of rides with them when I was in PV. They tend to do certain rides on certain days but if you let them know what you're after I'm sure they can accommodate.

I've never done a ride with VG -- anything I should know? Any suggestions on which guide to book with? I'll need a bike, but I'll be bringing helmet/shoes/pedals.

No experience with Veloguide but I did some rides with https://puertovallartacycling.com/ Clarence and Carmen are ex-pat Canadians and were really nice. I did the PV to Sayulita and back (~90km) plus the marina fat bike tour with my wife. I think they have a few longer ones too.
