BMC frame damaged, rebuild or new bike?
Need help deciding on the best way forward.
A shelving unit in garage fell on my bike that was on the trainer and the top tube is cracked. An electrician was working in the garage at the time. Between my homeowners insurance and the insurance of the workers that were in the garage I am assuming I will get some coverage for replacement. Technically it is just the frame that needs replacement but not sure how coverage will pan out.

It is a 2015 BMC TM02 bike with Ultregra Di2 and FLO wheels (old aluminum rum ones). Standard cockpit.
I've been wanting to upgrade for a while but didn't have the money or the justification, now I may have both:)

Options are:
1)Replace frameset only and maybe upgrade it to better frame if insurance coverage is for whole bike cost. Reusing the old groupset, cockpit, etc.
2)Replace whole bike and then part out the old damaged bike.
3)Repair the cracked carbon (don't like this option for many reasons)

What mid level TT bikes are people loving these days? Are Canyon framesets available as frame only? Is there a big difference in Ultegra Di2 current models compared to mine (that is probably 2014)?

1 or 2.

Primary question is do you want a new frame or not?

Secondary question is if yes which one?

If you’re overall set up is old and you want a brand new bike then do it.

If not too old then upgrade on frame.

Either way take advantage of bad luck and get something sweet

If you rebuilt it, would you feel confident in the frame repair being able to handle a pretty big jolt from a pothole at 40kp/hr without propelling you into the asphalt head first?

The more people I encounter the more I love my cats.

If insurance is involved then your only options are frame replacement or total new.

If it was your own money, certainly carbon repair.

But the insurance thing makes that not an option.

You’ll probably need quotes.

I would go with a new frame; your components sound solid. But if you want a new bike and you get enough money- do it.

Repairing a frame is a good idea until you are going fast and hoping it’s really fixed.
