I had the opportunity when I was in Boulder last week Emceeing the Training Peaks Endurance Coaching Summit, of riding a 2019 Specialized Roubaix for a bit. I was super impressed. Awesome handling. Huge versatility - while not really promoted as a true "gravel bike", with 32mm tires (it came with 28s), it could handle many gravel roads ( for sure the gravel roads that I most often ride on now with my current road bike). More aero strangely than the Tarmac and lighter than the Venge! What's NOT to like!
Did not really get the chance to fully test the shock damping mech, - forgot to turn it "on" until near the end of the ride, and it seemed to soak up some bigger hits the front end was taking. I could see how it would be annoying at other times.
This does seem to be the Everything bike that I'm kind of looking for! Am I missing something? Talk me out of it if you think I'm crazy!
Thank you to the good folks at Training Peaks, Specialized and Garmin for organizing the morning rides.
