New season

Hi everyone,
After a really bad season, a lot of sweetspot intervals during winter that let me burnt in march, I couldn't race even one decent race (and just did 2).

I want to start this season with a better prep. My standalone PB 10k is 37'11, and I'm in the 10% in olympic races where I live (hilly area, I dont have flat 40k TT time).

I train around 10-12h, with 3 run, 3 bike, and 2 to 3 swims.

I thought about this kind of training week during base period:

M Run intervals (Threshold or Vo2 if I do threshold on friday ride)
T Bike intervals (Threshold)
W Rest
T Run+swim
F Bike intervals (sweetspot/threshold or VO2 if I do threshold on monday run)
S Swim+run
S Bike

I'll have 3 bike, 3 run, with 3 hard sessions per week between bike and run, 2 threshold and 1 vo2

I could also use a polarized approach, with just 1 hard bike (20min of hard work above FTP) and 1 hard run (20min of hard work), more simple.

Any suggestion for the typical base week to race olys and 70.3 ?

Thanks
Ivan

I'm no coach, nor even a very fast athlete, but I would consider whether you really need a full rest day working on 10-12hrs a week. Unless it is necessary to balance out other things in your life.

Ta,
Rich.

Yes, I need wednesday off because of other activities. Sometimes I can do a light workout (short run) but I prefer to plan it off and do if I can.

Thanks for your answer.

Any thought about this training plan, adding a run workout (z2 run) ?
