Yes it is. Saved about 120g. I have something similar on my Cervelo SLC but I saved more weight than he did.

Total savings by stripping down the bike was only 2.4KGs...yeah, I think I'll keep the paint, BTA, and BTS.

180° , you mean better under the bar than on top or back to front?

The front wheel still has a lot of spokes right? Its not a gravel race

Is there an aero penalty for having wheel decals covering the dimples? 1 smaller old school zipp sticker per wheel face could be lighter and more aero than 12 full size on 2 wheels that he has

The 858s don’t have stickers. The zipp labeling is lazer’d on.

I agree.
Think it's funny how many people are saying how smart SK is equipment wise just by doing a video just saying how much weight he saved by each of the changes. That can be done by anyone, it's just hype for the bike. And that's fair, it's part of his job

It was hilarious how SK warn everyone several times in the video "do not do this at home" about stripping the paint.
Going for all that trouble, saving 100gr, and gaining absolutely nothing in the hilliest of the IM courses for that change.
I do not think anyone was planning on doing that change. LOL

I agree he's still one of the favorites for coming first into T2 tomorrow, but that's because of his power and bike skills, not this bike change.

Seeing some of the bike setups of the pros, in my opinion someone like Rudy von Berg made smarter choices. Still light setup but with less aero compromises.
