Last year the first run was 6.2 miles...this year they have both on MiamiMan website and the USAT site as 2 miles/56 mi/13.1 --has anyone heard if that is a typo or why they may have changed it? I didn't race it but know some who did and are...that's quite the difference in race strategy for where you spend your matches when you subtract 4 miles of running.

If they did shorten the first run, I'd be additionally curious as to why.
I raced Du Nat's this year, signing up while assuming it would remain the path to earning a long course du spot on team USA. Miamiman was not yet listed as the qualifying event. So if the reasoning was to use a longer course (fair enough decision I suppose, though USAT should announce this a year in advance, IMO), but now they shorten it...
