The way I read the article, or at least the way it is written suggests that the team manager is concerned about providing more benefits to his riders. I imagine if this is the case, those riders may seek to leave the team ASAP but perhaps there is something else I am missing here.

Whoa. This is a major blow to Women's World Tour cycling and the credibility of Lappartient's vision. I don't understand the reasoning behind it - they seem to be one of the better funded and organized teams and clearly have the best group of riders. They should be the poster child for the new World Tour setup - not a standout pro continental team!

I hope the riders take a stand and leave en mass as soon as their contract allows.
