Anyone ever rented a van (equipped Dodge Caravan) and camped in the state beaches for their Kona stay ?

Ugh, I live here, camp a lot, and wouldn't ever think of doing that. Constant hot, always refilling the cooler with ice, food prep hassles, rowdy beach scene...but you could get a front row spot at the energy lab.

Granted it was a Chevy Astro, but still...wigged us out (hate cockroaches).
