It's only over training if it makes you worse off. By the sound of it, these guys (and Marilyn) are givin' it heaps to provide a pretty darn good stress to the body, in an arguably measured and considered way, hoping to get fitness gains. I think they will do it, as long as they stop limping, and the bollock boils heal, before race day.
Sounds hard, but sorta fun at the same time. Ya certainly gotta have a pretty good base to begin with. Not for the weekend warrior that's for sure.

p.s. I was a bit disappointed Skid DNF'd on the 1/2 IM run. That's two in a row for him now. Bugger
