Training for Long AND Short events

I've got a half IM in August this year ( my "A" race), along with numerous sprint and olympic distance events i want to do too ("B" and "C"). I realise that i can't peak for all theses events but would like to do them anyway. The question is...

I was planning on following the AeT way of training with a year round weekly ME bike session as well. I realise this is the way to go for the Long distance event. I'm going IM next year. But will this type of training slow me down for the short stuff?
