Used plasti dip on my car rims, winter wheels. Had it on for two seasons, no problems. If i scratched it i just applied a new coat. I applied four layers of dip, the layers bonds to the previous layer and if you lay it on too thin it will be a pita to get of when you get tired of it. IF you want a shinier look you can buy a can of plasti dip glossifier, a type of clearcoat made for plasti dip

How "rubbery"/grippy is the Plasti-Dip when dry?Good thought, but there's no tack or grip with the sprayable stuff. Your only shot would be the "original" PlastiDip - which was for literally dipping the handle of your pliers, for example, in the container in order to coat them with a rubbery grip.
