One thing for guys like Cobain, or Jim Morrison, or Jimi Hendrix (as opposed to Bourdain, or Robin Williams, for instance) is that dying young kinda 'froze' them at their peak, so we don't get/have to see or remember them becoming old/fat/senile, etc like a lot of former idols (see: Elvis, or Ozzy).

Plus, I don’t think people worship Cobain because he committed suicide, rather like Hendrix and Morrison the sense of loss for what might have been raises up what was.
