Even if not murderous, it is SO criminally negligent that I find it unreasonable to let the kids remain in her care.
If you're in a really negligent car accident, they usually make it super expensive to near impossible to secure insurance coverage afterwards. They take your license. Why would we do that but say "ahh eff it, the kids will be alright".
