I have two ticks. Both work. One's lights blink continuously and the other's don't. I would guess it should not be blinking all the time??? Anybody know for sure.

The light should not be blinking the whole time after the strap is undone. I've seen mine continue to blink for an extended period of time after unsnapping it from the chest strap when the sender unit is very moist from sweat. After drying the sender it turns off very quickly. My guess is that the sweat is creating a complete enough circuit to keep the unit turned on. If the unit is "stuck on" 24/7 if will certainly drain the battery quickly.
