Nils Frommhold Hoka One One racing shoe?

Just curious, as I am looking for a Hoka One One racing shoe myself, and currently testing the MACH 2, which is nooot really doing it for me

In this pre IMZA photo, apparently training in Mallorca, he looks as to be wearing the MACH 2:

Whereas this finish line photo from IMZA (congrats on the great result, Nils) it seems he is on another pair of racing flats:

Can anybody help on this ?

Not sure. But I have the Hoka Tracer (1st model) and it's a horrible shoe, light but uncomfortable and stiff. Doesn't feel quick at all. I've only worn them twice. I like my Clifton's for training, but surely better options out there for racing flats than Hoka?

I am on my 6th year with a Mortons Neuroma in both feet. The Hokas are helping heaps here, due to the low drop, and the fat sole :) Will stay on Hokas for now, the Carbon inlay sound good too

I think his finish line is the carbon rocket. I would recommend that or the Tracer 2. They are both fairly "stiff" as the other poster pointed out to his dismay, but I think they are both fast if you like that type of shoe. The thing about the tracer vs the mach is that the mach is a little softer. I like a more dense foam for racing, both have the same metarocker I believe.

I have both and those 2 models are my preferred shoes. The tracer for both training and racing, and the rocket for racing. Just picked up the Clifton 1 though as a training/not so serious race shoe. Way more cushiony and has a slight spongey feel.

These are the Evo Carbon Rocket. I don't have the Mach 2, but as a racer I like these over the Mach 1. There is an energy return from the Carbon plate. It's a bit interesting, but if you're a forefoot striker than it's just a normal day at work.

Funny - I got the tracer and thought it was the best Hoka shoe since the original Clifton. I went through two pairs and used them as my tri race shoes last year. I've since stockpiled a ton of the Clifton 1 reissue to hopefully last a couple of years!
