That's the biggest question or issue that everyone should ask.....what is your risk tolerance?

Having a fiancee at SRAM, I hear questions about this all the time. People want to skirt the issue by hodge-podging things together and "will this work if I do this, instead of this?". The answer most always will be, "in theory, it COULD or SHOULD work", but that's not 95-100%?

Most people want 99-100% on race day, but unless you're investing in the complete system that is meant to work together, you're going to take a risk of it having issues. If you're spending so much on the race / coaching / travel / bike / etc, shouldn't this be something you make sure is as best as possible? :D

I can't find this one piece pad anywhere. Seb using a product that I can not purchase. Not exactly UCI legal?, sends a bad message if has to modify his sponsors product to achieve a desired position.

Triathlon doesn't care for UCI regulations.

Also, check out wattshop in the UK or others.
Have a mono for my trek but it is very tough to hold for long course, and I already have a narrow position.

I'm familiar with bell-curves but they aren't helpful without properly defined bounds which is why it isn't mentioned explicitly but implied by providing anecdotal stories of use-cases. My risk tolerance is probably one chain drop per 5 IM races on average road surfaces.

What's missing here is the definition of "best as possible." Here we are only talking about chain dropping. To get in the 99% (percent of what? races? years without chain drop?) should you also add chain guides? Probably not. The argument in other threads is that for tri, not using a clutch is better because it saves a watt or two and nearly 100g of weight. Just because it isn't pre-packaged as a kit from the manufacturer, doesn't make it a hodge-podge. If I won't drop the chain anyway, why add 100g and 1-2W resistance?

I will be converting my Zipp 808 FC's to tubeless.

Been running 404 nsw (non-tubeless) tubeless for a while with no issues whatsoever. I probably jinxed it now though...
