Well you never know where your next talent is going to come from. Fencing is a tiny dot on the radar of sport ,but Is one of the ancient standards. Who knows, getting a few of the Starwars kids into the mix can not hurt. Fencing takes years to develop the skill set to compete on the big stage. Hopefully this trend helps the sport a lot. Fencing is one of those lots of hard work and no recognition sports. Anyone here that can name 4 members if the US team? Hows about one?

I think you nailed it. My husband fences and totally geeks out on the sport -- I've gone to plenty of matches and especially at the elite level they're so fast it's hard to see the touches, and so not something for a mass audience.

the lightsabers make it all more obvious and exciting to watch.
