Pure Constitutional stuff - the Senate is abdicating its "advice and consent" mandate by letting Shanahan play at being SecDef for as long as Trump wants.

The Dems never have a problem with the debt ceiling. The Pubs have a problem with the debt ceiling only when they don't have all of the power. Trust me, if a Dem wins the next presidential race the debt ceiling will be a huge problem that the Dems have ignored for far too long and we need to put the Pubs back in power to fix the situation.

Nope, I don't know any Dems calling the debt ceiling a calamity, they do try and make moves to reduce it but it's not a house on fire. The Pubs, when they're not in complete power, it's a house on fire and the Dems spending is out of control.
