Please help me upgrade my rig. Don't want to swap my bike.
Here's my current set-up:

2012 P5-3, Dura-Ace mechanics with stock pulleys
165mm Rotor cranks with Q-rings / stock bottom bracket
Power2Max power meter
Wheels: Zipp Super 9 + Stinger 9 rear and front + stinger 7 front
Vittoria Corsa Graphene 23mm tubulars on all wheels
Stock 3t Aura cockpit with 20mm risers and Trig Gamma 24 extensions
Cee Gees pads
Dash stock saddle
Scott Road RC shoes
Speedplay chromo pedals
X-Lab carbon wing w/2 bottle cages / spare track Tufo / 1 Co2 cartridge
X-Lab Torpedo BTA hydration system
Profile Designs bento box

Options I can think of:

Ceramic stuff (bottom bracket, pulleys)
Cockpit upgrade to get arm tilt (Tririg Alpha X)
Cleaner drivetrain (waxed, etc.)

Programm: Full distance racing, competitive age-grouper.

Your thoughts ?

Ceramic bearings are a waste of money. Buy an ultrasonic cleaner and a crock pot and wax your chain, probably best bang for your buck. Slight gain from a set of clincher wheels. As per desert dude's time in the tunnel, tilt might be a net loss due to poor low-yaw performance

Maybe a helmet that tests a little better. Your pic is not at the best angle, but you look a bit high in front. Could you work on getting lower?

Yeah, I swapped the 20mm bar spacers to 10mm this winter. And sometimes, I look too far in front... bad habit. ;)

I really like my POC, lightweight and well ventilated.

Don’t know... I don’t think I have ever seen any Tririg cockpit compared to the Aura. They only tested against the 3T Ventus. Though, they did pseudo-test it against the Aura on their P3 vs P5 tunnel test. The P5 was a larger frame size, so there is no way to know if it was the larger frame or Aura that caused the P5 to test poorly.

Only you can answer that question but you have good advice on the potential upgrades. The bike/parts are otherwise quite aero. Having said that “upgrading” to an Alpha shouldn’t be nearly as expensive as you suggest. You can find used for $500-$600 and sell you current bars and you may be under $400 out of pocket, perhaps as little as $300 if you are picky/lucky with buy/sale.

the cockpit upgrade saves you :10-:15 per 40k I'd guess. IDK if that's worth it in my admittedly weird, cost/benefit/gain algorithm that I have in my head.

That pic is crap, you have a better pic of your position?
