Custom Kit Design Ideas
I'm looking at getting some custom designed kits made as I'm not finding anything online that I like and I'm bored of wearing all black kits. I'm having a logo designed for my one man team, but I was wondering, when it comes to the broader design, are there any resources out there for designing a kit that looks good or does anyone know of someone who designs kits without breaking the bank? I'll probably dabble with it myself for a bit, but, if I don't make something I really like, I'll probably pay someone to help me.

Anyone out there go this route before?

I don’t know about software but I was thinking of doing faded skulls with blood splatter. My fiancé and I love horror and Halloween.

I still lapped everyone on the couch!

Check out OwnWay. Last season I used them and gave them what I sort of was looking for and they made a few mock ups before we were able to finalize it. It was way better than I imagined.

Kiwami. Andre is awesome, the kits are the best technology IMO and minimum of 1.

I worked with Juan at innerforce to work up a design for me and my brothers. Went with a breast cancer awareness theme in memory of our Mom. I basically told him some ideas and color preferences and he went from there. Super nice guy to work with. Hoping to receive my kit this week

How much did you end up paying for the kit?

I think I paid around $300. I got their top of the line sleeved suit.

That's not bad for a custom kit. I already have a design made by a friend, gonna hit them up for a quote.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised. Let me know if you need a direct line to them and I can get you in contact with them if you're interested.

There are a handful of designing websites. How good it looks will depend on your eye for style...

I heard people have had mega issues with large delays and lack of communication. I heard several AG’s and Pros have been promised kits that didn’t arrive by race day.

Can anyone confirm?

OWA lack of communication? Ummmm no. I’ve literally exchanged scores of emails—many answered late at night—with their reps, including Chris and his wife a few times. Can’t imagine better communication. Apparel does take a while but not beyond the promised time in my experience. Considering this thread is now two months old I can’t imagine timing is a major issue for you or if it is and you want custom, I would move forward quickly.

I’ve never had an issue. We’re there a few times when someone didn’t get back to me in a few days then replied with an apology? Yes. But last year I didn’t have any big delays with my kit but I also ordered well before my first race and they knew when it was. Ordered my kit for this season last week and was told around 6 weeks so I guess I can check back after that.
