Very cool! These are experienced divers and I don't think they were any immediate danger.
From what I've learned during shark week, etc... is that if a great white wanted to eat you... you simply wouldn't see it until it was too late. If it comes moseying along near the top of the water... it's not "hunting". UNLESS: there is feeding going on (i.e. a chunk of meat on the side of a boat - that's when you stay in the cage.)
I went on a bull shark feeding dive in Cuba about 20 yrs ago. These are 12 ft long sharks and known man eaters. The feeders wore no extra protection and the sharks were as gentle as golden retrievers when taking the food. They'd swim within three of four feet of us tourist divers and swim gently away once they realized we weren't the ones feeding them. This was only a few hundred feet off a very popular beach and there has never been a shark attack on that beach.
This is insane and one of the coolest things I've seen in a longtime. Can't believe the cajones on this girl to swim in open water with these sharks.
It's on my bucket list to get to Guadelupe and swim in the cages but this is nutz. Want to get to Tiger Beach in the Bahamas as well.
your bullshark trip sounds very cool but then I also recall a recent trip where a lady in Costa Rica was attacked by a tiger after her group had just been swimming with it.

Guadalupe is on my bucket list as well. If I ever do make it I won’t be getting out of the cage.
