Then again, if it is a decal that gets sprayed over.....then when removing the backing from the decal some of the decal might not have been cut properly on the machine and stayed behind on the "c" making it an "o".

I'd assume you could email the s/n on the frame to Cervelo and get a response. I'd do that anyway outside of anything the seller tells you.

Company have asked for and tell me they have passed on the SN to Cervelo. Bike is brand new and in UK we have a distance selling regulations that means I can send back regardless of fault or not.

I bought a frame direct from the distributor last summer, and received a frame with exactly the same paint shop ''error''.
Part of the stencil must have been torn or folde, and one letter is missing.
NO big deal for me, I noticed it after only the third ride :-) .

Louis, thanks interesting it's not an isolated event. Trouble is I think it would be very difficult to try to sell the frame on in a few years, as per the comments above everyone's first thought is that it was a knock off.

I didn't want to change my frame, but I'm sure if I told the brand owner/distributor he would have INSISTED to take it back and send me a new flawless one, so he doesn't get bad exposure with a ridiculous item on the bike race locations.
If I bought a pricey Cervélo, I'd change it for a flawless one for sure.

Tell Cervelo u will keep it but try to work them paying for a custom paint job.

+1 there's no way you'll be able to sell an Oervelo frame :) so either they give you a new one or pay for custom paint job.

If he wants to sell the frame in the future with a custom paint job my immediate concern (as a potential buyer) would be there's a fault with the frame that's being hidden.

Just reject it and get a proper one or your money back.

Thanks Guy's, it's definitely going back, will see what Cervelo come back with over the next few days, could always give me a P5-3 since they have been discontinued, must have a few kicking about :-)

I'd suggest buying a pair of OisheO wheels to go on that thing.

I would worry more about the cables flopping around than I wood a micpelled worde.

Cables on my current NP3 do not flap around, and these won't when I swap out the stock bars and route the cables better than as delivered.

I have a P3 and would have to see that in person to tell you if it's legit. I'll be in Queens to at McDowells for lunch if you want to bring it by.

I do. There's nothing out there that motivates me to change. I went from a P2k to P3 to P3C to another P3C then mistakenly to Speed Concept Gen 1 (too many issues), then Gen 2 (a pain to travel with and seatpost wedge sucked), back to Cervelo on a P5 (a pain to travel with), then thankfully back to a P3. It's pretty perfect except I wish it had a treaded bottom bracket but it's nothing that a good Wheels MFG BB can't fix.
