Ironman website has it on the schedule. There's a short course planned for Oct 20, and 70.3 date says tbd.

I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen. I had NC 70.3 athletes that took that race as they got moved around when the hurricane hit and they told me the whole race had the feel of the race doing the least it could to provide an "race experience". They didn't see how it was going to continue.

Unless there was some new development, they already announced at this years event that this was the last year.

I've seen that several times and the same ST threads pop up w/ the same thoughts you did. From what I can tell no it aint happening.
