My favorite scene in the movie. "I'm not a witch, I'm your wife!" : D

Such a talented writer where he was able to come up with two very different books/movies between Marathon Man and The Princess Bride in addition to the screenplay for All the Presidents Men and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. RIP

For those of us who read the book, a Miracle Man needed a Witch in his employ in order to increase his credibility. He'd been feeding and burping his Witch that entire scene so that he could (lyingly) consult with Valerie on the negotiations with Inigo RE: Bringing back Westley. Ya see, Max was always good with dead. The true love thing really pissed her off, since she believed that the only real reason he wouldn't do the work was due to a drop in his confidence... Therefore, not a Witch, I'm your wife, thus threatening to put a bigger dent in his credibility.

Sorry, PB Nerd toning it down for a moment.

Also, Billy Crystal improvised a ton in that scene

I read Cary Elwes book, As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride and there was a LOT of raunchy stuff they shot which could never be in the movie, but they were in the moment and the camera rolled on

It would have been interesting if Terry Gilliam had directed The Princess Bride instead of Rob Reiner, if for no other reason than we would've gotten a real good look at "The Zoo of Death" [it's in the book] and the ROUS's would've been legitimately terrifying
