Riding in Houston thanksgiving week

Hi all

Flying into Houston Sunday evening with my TT bike Going to be there through Saturday. Staying at my sister in law’s place over by memorial park. I’ve ridden around there past couple of years at thanksgiving by myself, would love to ride with others in the mornings. I’m game for long distance, 60-100 miles, 18-22mph pace. I’m in San Francisco Bay Area and haven’t been able to ride for the last week due to the smoke from Camp Fire east of here and am going stir crazy. https://www.strava.com/athletes/ybertaud

Not sure about directly in Houston, but when we were down for IMTX I ran into a couple tri group rides in the woodlands that seemed pretty friendly and mentioned they ride year round. I can't seem to remember the name of the group right now, but some of them were properly hauling ass. I also did the Wednesday night ride at Blue Line Bike Lab and it was an excellent group. Idk how they are about TT bikes, but for a road group it was awesome.

Try reaching out to outrival, I think they have group rides around the IMTX route. Bicycle speed shop might have something going that week as well, and will be in the city. You could also head to Galveston and do that course.

What days are you looking to ride?

Thanks for the info. I’m looking to ride every morning early and be back by 11-11:30 in time to be online for work pacific time, Monday, Tuesday Wednesday. Thursday Friday and Saturday could be longer.
My sister in law is just west of 610 and memorial drive

I am in Houston. Not riding on Turkey Day, doing a Turkey Trot run instead. If you're here for the weekend, PM me and I will see if I can hook you up with some riders for that Saturday and/or Sunday.

My cycling club is doing a big ride on Black Friday. You’re welcome to come out.

Leaving from Pizza Bella on Pin Oak road in Katy and riding up to Belleville for a stop at the delicious bakery there. It will be mostly roadies but there will prob be at least a couple people on TT bikes. See the link for details about pace and route options and other details.

Anyone else in the area is welcome to join as well.

I'm going to be in town from Wednesday to Sunday too.
There's 2 group rides I was thinking of tagging along with on Thursday or Friday.

I live west of 610 off of Memorial Drive too. I see group rides on Memorial almost every weekend day and often on week days. Look up Philip Shama on facebook, he is probably the organizer. I suspect there will be rides right out your sister's front door.
