I gave up on the Silca disc adapter and just used a regular pump which slighlky bent my disc, but it was a plastic disc cover so I didn't care all that much. It very well may be user error, but I have found the disc adapters virtualy worthless.

Here are my requirements
(1) must work without multiple hands
(2) must fit disc with hole on only one side (like my HED) with zero risk of scraping or bending disc
(3) must be a plug and go solution, be secure and work-sounds silly but I have tried several adapters that I could never get to work--that very well may be user error but if I can't stick it on, pump and fill my tire without holding the adapter onto the valve, then I'm calling that a manufacturing design flaw ratehr than user error.

I use a Silca Disc Adapater on a HED disc. It works perfectly to any pressure. The only caveat is that whomever installed it put the gasket in upside down so that it wouldn't stay on the valve stem hands free. Took me a couple weeks to figure that out. My vintage Silca disc adapter was working much better than the new one! Unthread, flip the gasket and now it works perfectly hands free. Jam it on and the first rush of air locks it into place. I keep it on a Ryobi 18v inflator for the other 90% of the year and it gets used on every bike I have. If you still have yours, maybe try flipping the gasket around? See how one end is narrow and the other is open? It won't seal if the narrow end is on the wrong side.

Bring your disc into a bike shop. Perhaps there is a pump that works without an adapter.
My flo disc has a huge hole and works fine with my old giant control tower pump.

I'm not sure, but the most common complaint with the Hiro is that people think the lever opens outward to close the head.. but it actually closes inward just like the Hirame. Total swing of the lever from open to close is15 degrees, so there should be no issues with clearance as the Hiro is slightly smaller in all dimensions than a Hirame or really any other locking chuck that we've ever seen. Only the traditional crack pipes are smaller.

Hiro also has Schrader threads on the backside rather than a hose barb..so you just put it in your existing chuck and it will easily hold 300psi no hands. It can also hold tight on as little at 8mm of exposed valve stem.. the combination of these factors has seen us sell these to every single ProTour team and/or mechanic

I use this and it works great. It's threaded, so you screw it on, pump, remove and that's it.
No leaking or anything.

Now my question is I use tubular tire on my disc wheel and carry Vittoria Pit Stop for emergency.
What's the best way to put the sealant in?
Can I still use crack pipe to put the sealant in?
Crack pipe wont be blocked after sealant is hardened?

I have seen people force this stuff through a crack pipe before, but if you don't get it cleaned out quickly, it can clog up and ruin the pipe. The Effetto Mariposa Espresso is a similar product that has a nice flexible tube which will probably work well with most disc wheels. You could also try running tubeless sealant in the tire to begin with.

We ran tubeless sealant with team Bora pretty much all year this year with very positive results in tubular tires.

What do you use as a pump adaptor for your disc wheel? Are there any better ones out there than the standard brass crack pipe?
Anyone got any tips on how to pump a disc on your own?
Thanks

Yes buy one of these and be done with it.

I tried one and found it large, overly complicated, and cumbersome. I do like the regular Silca "crack pipe."

Same....overly complicated and cumbersome. Wasnt a fan. Still have it if someone wants to buy it.

Well, actually the shootout was this one. You linked to the standalone review of the Hiro v.2, which is still my favorite disc chuck :-)

I was going to buy the Silca crack pipe but then I realized for the same price I could get a Lezyne CNC floor drive pump. The chuck is shaped such that I don’t need a crack pipe for my HED disc or my prior Chinese disc.

I've used the KCNC pump head for years and it has been flawless and works perfectly with my disc wheel and my old Hed H3. It's $40.

Forget the crack pipe altogether. Do this instead...

Also to use my JoeBlow Pro I use tubes which have 38mm long stems. This allows more room for the pump head to fit.

I've been using one of these for about 9 years now...saw someone using it at a CX race in Chicago. I cut the hose and mounted a threader adapter, so I can use various SIlca like heads/adapters.
