Endless Pools = Speed?
Hi,

I have recently purchased the EP Fastlane and I was wondering if anyone has had any issues or challenges in getting used to the current speed. I'm an average swimmer so when I swim at 1:45/100yds in open water or swimming pools, it's pretty much a tempo workout.
But when I set the Fastlane to 1:45/100yds, it doesn't seem as challenging for me.

Has anybody dealt with similar speed or perception of effort issues?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Fabio

My swim coach last year used an EP. He said not to trust the absolute pace indicator....its really more of a relative indication.

I agree with your assessment that it way overestimated the pace when compared to RPE. My rough guess is by 20s/100 in the EP I used.

The current column is pretty narrow and shallow, and if you aren't centered or you have a deep pull, then your hand(s) will be in still water.
