Good luck...I've been wondering the same. I had an in depth convo with someone 'in the know' this weekend and the Canyon US is in a precarious situation, let us say. The US and EU sites are 2 separate entities and while EU has loads of stock in all the different models, the US struggles to have any real stock of bikes or accessories. 3-9 months new to the US market you could understand, but this has been past a year and the cogs ain't clicking.

Long story short, the frameset in the Speedmax not in EU, certainly not here. Best bet is to buy a complete bike with the least options, or get a Premier Tactical frame.

For a bit of clarity, the Speedmax CF nor SLX are available, whether in the U.S. or Europe, as a frameset.

We do have several 2018 Speedmax SLX models in stock on the USA site now that are clearing out right now before the new models land in a few months. If you're checking the site and subscribing to our notification program, you'll see a full range of models in stock. Things are clicking for sure!

But yep... in short, there are no frameset options anywhere globally; the Speedmax CF SLX is available as a complete bike only.

Hey Jay,

I currently have a Canyon Speedmax CF 8.0 size XS which I bought last year, I love it but my dream is to upgrade to the CF SLX. I was wondering why you don't have size XS available in this model? as I'm not sure if size S would fit me correctly (my height is 165cm) is there any specific reason?

How does one buy a Cube bike without paying an arm and a leg through forwarding ?

I've tried the usual bike-discount.de but they won't do it.

You have two options:

1) Buy whatever Speedmax SLX they have in stock in your size, and sell the various parts you want to change. You might find you don't lose as much money as you think. This is what I did.

2) Do yourself a favor and buy a different bike that's actually available as a frame set and from a company actually capable of serving their US customers. I'll never buy another Canyon. Nice bikes for the price but it's damn near impossible to get spare/extra parts and accessories if/when you need them. If I could turn back the clock, I'd buy a BMC Timemachine 01 frameset or a Factor Slick.

Why is it for some of you a killing factor that the company doesn't sell bikes with frames only?
Sure I would have loved buying the bike frame only but in the end if I mount the bike manually would it really be benefical?
