Interesting video shared by TriRig on Facebook showing a new cockpit for returning IM World Champ Patrick Lange. Looks interesting, and comfy. What say you, ST?

I always thought that a product had to be available to all of the public before it could be used. That opens an armament battle that gets a bit expensive and sticky.

That's true for UCI racing. Is it also the case for Ironman?

He was already teasing the thing on instagram a couple of days back ...

Ya know, I’ve been semi obsessed with bar extension-arm interface for a while now, ever since Wiggins used the 3D printed bars for his hour record. Then, I’ve seen Rohan Dennis use it once for Aussie TT nats, Campearts has a similar Ridley offering, pretty much all of Team Sky, WattShop and the KGF pursuit squad has similar, Bussi for the women’s hour record.
All have some custom molded extensions to perfectly mate on their forearms.

With the airflow so clean at your arms, I feel like a cylinder is a terrible way to start the seperation. Plus, the whole gap between extension and forearm has to account for some extra turbulence.

Wonder if we’ll seen any kind of data to tell the difference between a custom molded extension and say a high rise ski bend with 3-4 inches of gap between extension and forearm?

Maybe it’s not much and these riders are just squeezing out every tiny bit of drag savings? At the least, it’s probably more comfortable to have so much more material to rest you elbows/forearms/hands on.

For what it's worth, my mantis position falls apart aerodynamically without a bottle between my arms.
