Yeah and S4 hits on that pretty hard. Both Mars and Belters.
Suddenly terra forming Mars is no longer needed and the massive economy associated with that just had it's legs chopped out from under it.

I read the first book, but found it heavy with too many storylines. I've watched all of the seasons of the Expanse, and loved it. The seasons improved. A few things. 1. Why the hell did Naomi and Miller have horrible hair styles? Very distracting, especially for Naomi who is a hard ass female character. The hair stylist needs a major boot in the butt (yes I'm superficial). 2. Chrisjen stole the show, and her acting was bang on. 3. I wondered the same thing about the New Terra plotline. Why would there be so much fighting over a single planet when thousands of them are available? 4. the science seems to be spot on. eg. Coriolis effects.
