Around the Bay: Melbourne

Anyone doing this this year? (Melbourne/Australia)

They've introduced a 300km (186 mile) route this year. Never rode more than 120 miles in my life, but this could be something thats doable if I make September a bike focused month.

I have no interest in towing people (if you are a strong rider) and having to pass so many slower riders (who you will probably end up towing) on a congested road for that length of time... Mind you I live on the bay too so riding the same road gives me no interest as well. If I was going to do an awesome ride around Melbourne (I am doing again) it would be the Amy Gillet Gran Fondo.

That one looks pretty good. Its only 3 weeks away. You driving up there in the morning or got a hotel booked?
Might just jump in to it if there are any slots available.

Negative Ghost Rider.

The second half is always too dangerous when the retards doing to 100K ride fall of their bikes.

I go to Geelong first and then back up from Sorento. But the riders starting in Sorento are a disaster.

I have mate flying in so I am sending the weekend down there. It's an early morning if you drive. I stayed in Torquay last time I did it that isn't so bad. I am sure there are slots available. Some tough climbing if you don't know the course...
