Strava and TrainingPeaks Cadence Difference
Quote | Reply
Hi all,

So I've noticed that when this new Summit thing came into affect on Strava I've noticed a significant difference in Cadence values on a ride recording.

Example. Did an 80 Mile training ride with various efforts involved. Strava has this cadence at 83 rpm for the 5 hours riding time, yet the PC8, the SRM software and Trainingpeaks has this at 72 rpm.

One could argue that 10rpm isn't a massive difference over that distance but on TT's I've noticed a difference aswell.

Any ideas on what's going on here as prior to Summit coming into place, Never had this issue or is this just co-incidence?

Thanks

My guess is that TP is including values of zero, whereas Strava is not.

In this particular case (i.e., for cadence), the latter approach is preferable.

The include Zero was my throught aswell. So as a general rule would you include Zero's into your post analysis or exclude them on the training peaks file?

Thanks
