Let's also not forget about Elvis and Madonna.

August 16th is quite a day. We lost Elvis in 1977 and now Aretha 41 yrs later. Its just a damn shame that they never recorded a duet together. Imagine those two voices on the same recording. That would have been epic.

Madonna turns 60 today, still looks great and had a lot of talent despite the fact much of her career was built on shock value pushing the envelop. I've always been a casual fan, have a few of CD's and really liked a few of her songs over the years.

So here's a toast to the trio.

What's your opinion on them?

When you mentioned Madonna, at first I thought you were reporting that she died, too...

If you want to make it a dead musician trio, Robert Johnson died on August 16th, too.

Madonna was a great talent in the 80's. Elvis and Aretha are in categories of their own but I really like the idea of the duet.
