Help Front wheel HED
Hello
I would like help to decide
Between the hed gt3 or jet black 6 or 9
It would only be for triathlon and races against the clock.
Buy a jet black plus disc and I do not know what to buy in front
I used to use a Chinese disc and a Chinese trispoke
Could you help me ?
Thank you
Rafael

Jet Black 9. I am running a Black 9/Disc on my bike. I chose the 9 over the 3-spoke after trading some emails with a HED guy.

do you really want to mix tubular with clincher? fine for tt but if in a tri, you need to carry 2 spare options

This. Go with the H3+ if going the clincher route.

If that will be your only race wheel option, get the 6. The 9 can be squirly in side winds, and it's only marginally faster than the 6 iirc. Or just do like I did and get a set of 6s as training wheels, then have a disc/9 for race day. If super windy just use the 6 in front instead.

Get a Black 6. It's a very fast, very versatile wheel choice.

X2 on the 6. I had the H3+ for a year and found it very awkward and didn’t really like it and I wanted to really like it because it looks so damn cool.

The H3+ is a very fast wheel but not as stable in cross winds as a 6+

My decision point was between the HED Jet Black 6 and 9. I ended up with the 6 because I figured I could ride it in any wind conditions and I probably couldn't (or wouldn't want to) ride the 9 in gusty, high winds. (I have a 9 and a Disc for the rear.)

Same for me this year, was trying to decide between 9/9 or 9/6. Decided to go with the 6. Easier to handle, a tiny bit lighter, and questionable whether it is really any slower than the 9. Cam Wurf using a 40mm rim at Kona was interesting...

Train on a 6+, race on a H3+. They do handle slightly differently, but I've yet to encounter a wind condition where I wished I had the 6+ instead of the H3+ in the front.

I have found that the H3+ is more sensitive to tire selection than the 6+ with regards to handling. The H3+ handling got better as I went to a smaller tire, Specialized Turbo Cotton 24mm to Vittoria Corsa Speed 23mm to Continental Supersonic 20mm.

Very good data
I have not yet been able to make the decision, there are many different ideas in the post itself.
I have used a Chinese trispoke one year, it is a very fast wheel, but very heavy.
I never had problems with the wind, I use a giant trinity pro

My country is windy in itself, a few days there is no wind.
I'm in doubt
but apparently a 6 would be a good buy.
I'm not someone very fast my ftp is 310
69k weight
but not very slow either.
Thank you

The GT3 is tubular only. Staying all clincher you need the H3+
