Time between first two Ironmans?
So Ironman UK announced that the bike course for Sunday’s race had been shorten 17 miles today. As this is my first “Ironman” it’s very disappointing after 30 weeks of training to not be doing an Ironman on Sunday.

They’ve already said they won’t be offering transfers or refunds so I may as well do it. Ironman Copenhagen is 5 weeks on Sunday. Is it realistic to target Copenhagen so I can finally get this distance checked off? I’m not super fast, was hoping for around 11 hours on Sunday. Would be happy with 12 In Copenhagen which is an easy course.

I did my second HIM in May and felt fine the week after that. Did about 15 hours that week, but I get the feeling the full IM is an entirely different beasty

FWIW, last year I did 2 IM's 5 weeks apart with fairly good success. With that being said, I was cooked after #2. I never really got bent out of shape over a shortened course. I promise you that at mile 20 of the run, you wont feel bad about those few lost bike miles.
My weeks between were this:
Light recovery
back into things
push a bit
back off a bit
taper steep

Good luck
