Yep, both surfaces are sufficiently hard enough that there’s no difference when it comes to running, neither will deform.

In general I would agree that most days there would be no difference between asphalt and concrete pavement. However, in the right conditions the asphalt binder may soften and it may not be a largely discernable difference while running over a 3 hr run that many strides even on the slightest of pavement difference could have a cumulative effect.
During compaction of asphalt generally anything below 140 degrees the asphalt is cooled. So let's say on a hot day with full sun on a IM course it is entirely possible that the binder has started to soften.
