Athletes With Joint Replacement, Part Two, Knees
Quote | Reply
First, thanks very much to all the folks who contacted me here and by email, john@johnpostmd.com, as you've been a big help. We've had lots of good conversations and many athletes are continuing where they left off before surgery. Congratulations!

The only problem is that you are all patients with hip replacements of one type or another. Is there anyone out there still in triathlon with either a full or partial knee replacement? If you had just a minute to chat, I'd really be interested in a couple minutes of your time. Maybe you know someone who's had this operation and I could do the leg work.

Thanks so much,

John

John, I would be interested in your research on this subject. I am undergoing partial vs full knee replacement tomorrow. I am a surgeon and love our sport. I hope and plan to be back to it later this year or next year. I will be happy to discuss my recovery and return to triathlon with you as my journey continues.
