Those 4000 sq ft houses are on 5000 sq ft lots so might as well be town houses. Plenty of townhouses too that are twice the size they used to be.

There is one development going in that are all $600k+ patio homes. I really don’t get the desire. It’s not like we have a gigantic yard. Most yards in metro Denver aren’t that big but you couldn’t even let a dog run around in these new ones.

Building prices are all over the map right now (due to a variety of factors). Plywood has doubled in price in around a year. Drywall went up something like 50% quite literally over night. That caused a major headache for companies that quoted their jobs before the price increase but bought material after.
Combine that with an ever increasingly complex building code and it's no wonder the price of building is going up.
