‘worst school shooting of century’ in Sydney

Lunatic youths not exclusive to the USA.
This is getting a little close to home.
My nephew is a recent grad of this high school.

With no second amendment protections, the kids were sitting ducks. No armed guards, no armed teachers, slow police response.

About the only compensation is that the perps had no access to guns, either. All they could do was make horrible threats, not actually shoot up the school. People are very upset, but no one is dead. So there's that....

Everyday the choice to allow on-line schooling grows.

Lol wut?

Making a threat to do anything at a school is quite common here in Oz. You would know that
Hell, there was a school in queensland that was locked down several times in a week and twice in one day due to a bomb threat, but making out as if a shooting was even remotely possible is a pretty big stretch.

I think the moral of the story here is that bitches be crazy, not that guns kill people.

This is a good example of how well gun control is working in Australia. It is extremely difficult for teens to get hold of guns so school shooting do not happen.

This is not even a threat. It's a film studies video/assignment which apparently was effective.

be responsible with thread titles... 'worst school shooting of the century' threatened in Syndey' is much more accurate

I don't know TheRef's reasoning, but I think the most valuable skills learned in school - from preschool to college - are not on any curriculum.

They are how to make friends, navigate social groups and learn social hierarchies, navigate bureaucracy, handle conflict, be assertive in the face of negative or harmful social pressure.

Basically how to deal with people. Most important thing in life.

I love on-line learning, and think it's the future. But somehow this other stuff is going to have to be accounted for. Learning social skills through online class discussion, I don't think will cut it.

Trail pretty much stated why I mean online schooling is a detriment to society.

There are many positives from online school but kids do not know how to deal with each other and it's only getting worse.

I agree; you can't shoot a gun you don't have.
Problem solved.

This had to do with my reasoning in one of the other threads. Make gun possession as impossible as you can for minors under that age of 21. If you look at school shootings over the last 3 decades, you'll quickly realize that the overwhelming majority of them were perpetrated by maladjusted losers in their late teens.

So no one was killed? How is that the worst shooting?

Worst response or potentially worst shooting.
