Triathlon Speedsuit/sleeveless wetsuit question
Quote | Reply
Hi All,

I have a sleeveless wetsuit. I thought I read at somewhere that you can't wear a sleeved speedsuit under that? Is that still the case? I do not intend to go to a sleeved wetsuit.

Are there any Speedsuits that you put the top on post swim?

For the strong swimmers - do you find the sleeved Speedsuits to hinder your swim at all?

Lastly - has anyone tried to just have it rolled down and then post swim put it on? Hard to do wet?

Thanks in advance!

I don't understand, why in the hell would anyone wear a speed suit under a wetsuit??? People wear speed suits instead of wetsuits(when they are not allowed)..

Guessing (or hoping) he means a sleeved trisuit, not speedsuit.

I believe it is now ok to do in ironman... I'm positive it's fine in usat racing (that are non im events)

Yes the new trisuits that I have seen many people wear for the bike and run. Its sleeved. I thought you could not wear that under a sleeveless wetsuit.
Do any of those come in two pieces or has anyone with a sleeveless wetsuit just rolled it down for swim?

Louis garneau makes an aero 2 piece.
I normally roll mine down and pull up during the run to t1

The rules changed, and you should be able to wear a sleeved trisuit in WTC and USAT races.

I don't think that USAT directly addresses the sleeved tri suits, but WTC does:

Swim Rules on Page 11

As long as the sleeves don't go below the elbows.

I personally would roll down the top of the tri suit and put it on in transition. That's just my preference.

Sleeved tri suits come in full suits and in separate tops.

I believe the rule is that the trisuit sleeves have to be above the elbow. I usually roll it down and put it on in t1
