I think I first saw a trailer for Upgrade a month or two ago. Had never seen anything or heard anything about it before it was attached to a movie I was seeing in theaters. At first, I thought it was a Venom teaser as the main actor looks a lot like Tom Hardy and there's someone/thing in his head.

Thought nothing more of it until quite positive reviews started coming out (and it seemed like an entertaining premise).

In the future (near ish? unclear) man and wife get mugged, wife gets killed, man gets paralyzed from the neck down. Man depressed, interested in whodunit, cops get nowhere. Inventor approaches, offers man a new life with a sophisticated computer chip helping him move/walk again, man accepts after much inner turmoil.

The movie was super entertaining. A hair on the predictable side, but really fun.
