Zipp Freehub Question
I run a set of 2009/10 808's (clincher, aluminum track). Also have a Zipp 900 from the same time frame (clincher, aluminum track).

These wheels are well taken care of, I've had the 808's serviced yearly, the 900 has only been in possession for 2 weeks.

The 900 freehub is the quietest hub I have EVER heard. I can't express the silence enough, think quiet hub, and turn that down even more. Don't get me wrong, I care nothing about noise, but this is confusing to me. Why would 2 wheels from the same time, same manufacturer, running the 88/188 make 2 distinctly different sounds, and by different I mean the 808 sounds like a pissed off group of hornets while the 900 is as quiet as a church?

Regards,
J. Smith

Because the 808 noise travels down the spokes and amplifies in the hollow rim?

Disc is solid??, so muffles it? Only guessing here; last zipp I had was a screw-on 900!!
