I have used a personal articles policy through State Farm (since they do my car and renter's insurance) and filed a claim about 6 years ago. Super simple and I was happy how they handled it.

I couldn't insure another bike for 3 years through State Farm after that claim (just their policy), so I have used Markel since. I haven't filed a claim through them, but they seem to be good so far.

Physiojoe925, thank you. I also tried reaching out to my current company that covers renters and car insurance, but they were only able to insure it against theft or loss. That's why I specifically asked them about coverage against crashes and other types of damages. No luck on that end. It was Progressive by the way

I have coverage through USAA, and I'm 99% sure it covers everything from theft to crashes. I know it covers driving into the garage with the bike on the top rack because...well, I just do.

And I called them after I crashed last year, if memory serves it's covered there too.

So I ran the quote through velosurance.
Having valued the bike at $10.5k, deductible $500, no international travel, the premium comes to $67 a month, which is higher than my BMW M5 !!!

I used them for awhile and I was going to say it’s really flipping expensive. I love the concept but unless I’m traveling a ton with my bike it’s hard to see the benefit. It’s not like I’m laying down my bike all the time.
