Inside out sports is in Cary... it depends on where you’re staying but that might be an option. In the RDU area you’ll most likely have to travel a bit to get to a bike shop, but the guys at IOS are good to work with.

Inside Out or Bicycle Chain also has several shops around this area and often have varied rentals.

FWIW, not sure how Bicycle Chain is on rental policy but online IOS claims a full price deposit on rentals. I thought about renting a tri bike to do the Charlotte time trial stuff, hell no if it is a 100% deposit.

Bicycle Chain's policy online doesn't state they collect, but take a scan of your credit card.

"Inside-Out Sports will assume a security deposit equal to, but not exceeding, the retail value of the bike that is rented"
