My son was running in track and suddenly presented with a super-sharp pain in his heel and can barely walk. A few months ago, he hurt the same heel jumping off a height, but it's gotten better since then.
Poking around, there's something called a calcaneal fracture that looks pretty nasty. Could that have happened just while running? Or is it the stress fracture version of the same thing? Or could it be something else? It's not plantar fasciitis, btw. It just happened suddenly in the middle of the afternoon during a sprint run.
