Is that a shot in the dark because he owns a taxi business and heads you don't lose anything, tales you look like a genius? Or is there anything out there?

Taxi medallions are a fascinating world - especially since the advent of uber.

Then he was paid in an asset that is rapidly losing value

Before uber NYC medallions were worth $1 million plus, last time I checked they were worth about 250k (and I’m amazed they actually have that much value)

If there was ever an example of artificial scarcity, it was the medallion system. A system setup to screw everyone except for the politicians and medallion owners. Instead of money going into improving the service, it went to pay off the stupid medallions. It's legalized fraud.

Article from today’s Chicago Sun Times

Cohen and Chicago Medallions....

https://chicago.suntimes.com/...f-chicago-cab-mogul/

“Over the past eight months, Cohen’s father-in-law has given at least $20 million in loans to Yasya Shtayner, records examined by the Chicago Sun-Times show. Her family owns Chicago Medallion Management Corp., which manages 368 taxicabs, including 22 owned by Cohen.”

Sheesh, if you were to try to write fiction about the shadiest lawyer you could dream up, not sure you could beat the reality of Cohen. You got your porn star, your mobster-sounding Ukrainian connections, your taxi medallion shenanigans, your conspiracy talk-show host.

The only thing that's missing (so far) is his arranging for "cleaners" to move a body.
