Rounded out Allen Head
The allen head screw on my water bottle cage between my handlebars is completely rounded out. I am trying to replace it, but I can't get it off. Any suggestions? A way to fix at home.

First, try a Torx wrench slightly bigger than the hole. Hammer (gently) it into the hole and try to remove it that way. Torx wrenches usually have enough bite to get it out.

Next, if you can get to the head (it isn't a bolt sunk in) you can use a dremel cutoff wheel to cut a slot into the head, then use a flathead screwdriver to remove it.

After that, it's drilling it out or using a screw extraction tool.

Agree, that is the best method, just did that this weekend on an old speedplay screw.

if you can get to the underside of the bolt, you can use pliers to turn it.

and your allen keys might be worn out. get new ones.

Buy a screw extractor set from Amazon from $10. They work amazingly well and have saved my ass many times. Just be sure to follow the directions because they need to be used in a specific order. Not complicated at all but not intuitive either.

Worked for me last year. I bought a screw extractor kit and decided to use this method instead. Link

QFT, did this a LOT on my old Volkswagen back in the day. All of the methods listed here.
